Entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., and a Smoky Black mare with coat slightly faded black coat caused by a single copy of the cream gene over the black base., can produce 8 different coat colors: Gray Smoky Black (22%), Smoky Black (22%), Gray Black (22%), Black (22%), Gray Palomino (3%), Palomino (3%), Gray Chestnut (3%) and Chestnut (3%).
