The head and legs retain the original base color tones. Entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., and a Chestnut mare with coat base coat with a reddish body, mane and tail, with no black pigment., can produce 8 different coat colors: Roan Bay (18%), Bay (18%), Roan Chestnut (18%), Chestnut (18%), Roan Black (13%), Black (13%), Roan Dark Brown (2%) and Dark Brown (2%).
