The cross between a Gray Chestnut stallion, whose coat the (G) gene acts on the base coat promoting progressive lightening throughout the horse's life until reaching very pale or completely white tones. Base coat with a reddish body, mane and tail, with no black pigment., and a Dark Brown mare with coat dark brown coat, often nearly black, with black points, expressed over the bay base., can produce 8 different coat colors: Gray Bay (25%), Bay (25%), Gray Chestnut (18%), Chestnut (18%), Gray Black (4%), Black (4%), Gray Dark Brown (3%) and Dark Brown (3%).
