The cross between a Splash White Black stallion, whose coat the gene (Sw1) acts on the base coat color and imparts well-defined white markings, mainly on the face and limbs. Many individuals inherit blue eyes. Entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., and a Paint Dark Brown mare with coat the (To) gene acts on the base coat forming large, well-defined white patches across the body and legs. Many cases also inherit blue eyes. Dark brown coat, often nearly black, with black points, expressed over the bay base., can produce 16 different coat colors: Paint Splash White Bay (13%), Paint Bay (13%), Splash White Bay (13%), Bay (13%), Paint Splash White Black (7%), Paint Black (7%), Splash White Black (7%), Black (7%), Paint Splash White Chestnut (3%), Paint Chestnut (3%), Splash White Chestnut (3%), Chestnut (3%), Paint Splash White Dark Brown (1%), Paint Dark Brown (1%), Splash White Dark Brown (1%) and Dark Brown (1%).
