The cross between a Roan Smoky Cream stallion, whose coat the (Rn) gene acts on the base coat by distributing white hairs throughout the body, giving it a roan appearance. The head and legs retain the original base color tones. Very pale coat with yellowish highlights, resulting from double dilution of the cream gene over the black base., and a Splash White Black mare with coat the gene (Sw1) acts on the base coat color and imparts well-defined white markings, mainly on the face and limbs. Many individuals inherit blue eyes. Entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., can produce 8 different coat colors: Roan Splash White Smoky Black (22%), Splash White Smoky Black (22%), Roan Smoky Black (22%), Smoky Black (22%), Roan Splash White Palomino (3%), Splash White Palomino (3%), Roan Palomino (3%) and Palomino (3%).
