The cross between a Roan Black stallion, whose coat the (Rn) gene acts on the base coat by distributing white hairs throughout the body, giving it a roan appearance. The head and legs retain the original base color tones. Entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., and a Splash White Bay mare with coat the gene (Sw1) acts on the base coat color and imparts well-defined white markings, mainly on the face and limbs. Many individuals inherit blue eyes. Brown body with black mane, tail, lower legs and ear tips, due to the presence of black pigment restricted to the points by the Agouti gene., can produce 16 different coat colors: Roan Splash White Bay (14%), Splash White Bay (14%), Roan Bay (14%), Bay (14%), Roan Splash White Black (7%), Splash White Black (7%), Roan Black (7%), Black (7%), Roan Splash White Chestnut (3%), Splash White Chestnut (3%), Roan Chestnut (3%), Chestnut (3%), Roan Splash White Dark Brown (2%), Splash White Dark Brown (2%), Roan Dark Brown (2%) and Dark Brown (2%).
