The cross between a Roan Smoky Cream stallion, whose coat the (Rn) gene acts on the base coat by distributing white hairs throughout the body, giving it a roan appearance. The head and legs retain the original base color tones. Very pale coat with yellowish highlights, resulting from double dilution of the cream gene over the black base., and a Chestnut mare with coat base coat with a reddish body, mane and tail, with no black pigment., can produce 6 different coat colors: Roan Buckskin (20%), Buckskin (20%), Roan Palomino (18%), Palomino (18%), Roan Smoky Black (13%) and Smoky Black (13%).
