The cross between a Paint Smoky Cream stallion, whose coat the (To) gene acts on the base coat forming large, well-defined white patches across the body and legs. Many cases also inherit blue eyes. Very pale coat with yellowish highlights, resulting from double dilution of the cream gene over the black base., and a Grullo mare with coat the Dun gene acts on the base color, adding the characteristic dark dorsal stripe. In some cases it lightens the body tone and may also produce zebra-like leg markings. Entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., can produce 8 different coat colors: Paint Dun Smoky Black (22%), Dun Smoky Black (22%), Paint Smoky Black (22%), Smoky Black (22%), Paint Dun Palomino (3%), Dun Palomino (3%), Paint Palomino (3%) and Palomino (3%).
