The cross between a Paint Dark Brown stallion, whose coat the (To) gene acts on the base coat forming large, well-defined white patches across the body and legs. Many cases also inherit blue eyes. Dark brown coat, often nearly black, with black points, expressed over the bay base., and a Perlino mare with coat cream coat with slightly reddish tones in the mane and tail, caused by double dilution of the cream gene over the bay base., can produce 6 different coat colors: Paint Buckskin (39%), Buckskin (39%), Paint Palomino (7%), Palomino (7%), Paint Smoky Black (4%) and Smoky Black (4%).
