The cross between a Paint Chestnut stallion, whose coat the (To) gene acts on the base coat forming large, well-defined white patches across the body and legs. Many cases also inherit blue eyes. Base coat with a reddish body, mane and tail, with no black pigment., and a Black mare with coat entirely black coat, with no dilutions and no Agouti gene action restricting black pigment to the points., can produce 8 different coat colors: Paint Bay (18%), Bay (18%), Paint Chestnut (18%), Chestnut (18%), Paint Black (13%), Black (13%), Paint Dark Brown (2%) and Dark Brown (2%).
